It's been a while since I dropped some news, so here goes.....

Work is still..........work. But the good news is, I had my very fist art show!!! Well, gallery style anyway. The good people at the Miami Science Museum [link] were nice enough to feature me as an artist - after all, I've been designing their ads and flyers for their monthly happy events for FREE (so far). So call it a pity placement - I'll take it.

The event went really well - I got a lot of compliments from the people their, and I got to meet some cool local artists from Miami. I have a bunch of pics, but I'm not too keen on posting them here - there's a reason why I've never joined myspace or facebook or any of that.

On a side note, i've finally take the next step scholastically - at least made the right gesture - starting studying for the GMAT with some buddies. Hopefully this will lead to an MBA, and eventually selling out, accruing mass wealth, and establishing an art empire.

In more art news, still working on my original book, Asumed Civitlity. Hope to put some of the pages on here soon. More over, I've been working on a few pages for :iconportalcomics: 's project - a very cool opportunity - haven't finished yet due all the work stuff, and personal things going on - I hope I can post something I do, but that'll be up to him. It's also cool because :iconrantz: did some earlier pages, so i'm following a tough act.

And in other news, I'm looking to launch a separate site - nothing huge, just a basic page for some art and ideas I have.

That's about it.

The Miami Science Museum is looking for original, local art to be featured at art@MiaSci on February 28th. As part of our young professional mixer series, art@MiaSci presents a happy hour alternative in a non-traditional setting. We provide an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, our exhibits and the sounds of renowned South Florida DJs. This is a great chance for you to bring your art and show it off in a vibrant setting, with a captive audience – think of it as your own, personal opening! All mediums of art will be considered, so if you make films or are a sculptor, this is also your chance!

If you are interested, please submit a few photos with samples of your work to avillar@miamisci.org no later than Sunday, February 10th. Out of all the submissions, 10 artists will be featured that evening. Selections will be made by a panel of artists and designers.

Well, my last post (only 3 days ago) gave a run-down of my vacation. I have to say, the time off was quite refreshing because I've been hitting the paper like there's no tomorrow. That said, i'm wondering if there are any artists specializing in colors (digital painters, ps colorists, etc.) that would be interested in coloring a piece I'm working on.

Please bare in mind, this not a job I'm offering, just some practice. I don't exactly get LOADS of traffic on my page, so I'll leave this post up for a week or so.

BUT, if someone does happen to stop by, and is at all interested, please drop me a note or leave a comment letting me know you're "somewhat" interested. This is obviously for a collab piece.

I'm usually happy, but not ecstatic, with how my pieces come out, but I'm forever bettering my lines, and I'm the first to admit that I still have a long way to go when it comes to my digital colors. And so, I'm offering the opportunity (more like pleading for the kindness) for someone to color something new.

The last guy to touch one of my works was :icondevil1: on [link] with his touch [link] and I MUST say, it came out awesome. So I'd love to see another artists' addition to something I started - the outcome is always something more to admire in my opinion.

Well, that's it.

Come one, come all.

Ok - well - as I briefly mentioned in my last journal that was up for a whole hour - just came back from a nice vacation in the Bahamas for my 1 Yr Wedding Anniversary. Pretty bad ass trip - we stayed at Atlantis Hotel - Paradise Island. The place is friggin' huge - waters slides, lazy rivers, beaches, bars, bars, bars, and a casino.

It really felt like a vacation - feeling really recharged so I've already hit the drawing desk several times since I got back yesterday.

A few fun facts about the trip is that we met a few celebrities, one of which was James Kyson Lee - for those of you who don't know who he is (I didn't know him by name) he is the actor that plays Ando on the show Heroes: [link]
Nice guy - didn't talk to him to him too much b/c I didn't want to bother poor guy.

My wife got a picture with the Pussy Cat Dolls while their Bodyguard almost kick the shit out of me - pretty funny story.

And we swam/played with the Dolphins in the Hotel's Dolphin Cay - believe it or not, Stephen Baldwin was there with his family. I'm sure you're wondering what the hell happened to that guy since Usual Suspects. Didn't go up to him b/c he seems a bit temperamental, so i didn't want to even try snagging a photo of that guy.

Well, those the points I'm allowed to jot down - overall - the trip was great.

In other news, just saw a post from :iconliquidology: regarding a website to help the hungry. PLEASE check it out - you can better your vocabulary while helping out - I'm in Public Relations, so I hit the tips of my fingers with a hammer each time I get a word wrong only b/c it's completely unacceptable. Check it out at:

Also, there's apparently been some movement over at :iconbeachblanket: regarding the new pages. Not sure what the hold up is, but they keep saying the new pages will be out soon. If you don't know about this web comic, and you're into horror, it's worth checking out: [link]

Well, that's pretty much it.

Hope you like the new pieces I'll be putting up.
